• 5-Carboxypentyl triphenyl phosphonium bromide can be used as a coordination reagent and is often used in organic synthesis to assist in the interaction between catalysts and substrates. It can coordinate with metal ions to form complexes, thereby changing the activity and selectivity of the catalyst.

• (5-Carboxypentyl)(triphenyl)phosphonium bromide is commonly used as a deprotection reagent in organic synthesis. It can remove protective groups (such as benzyl, acyl, etc.) from hydroxyl compounds such as alcohols and ketones, and reduce them to the corresponding original compounds.
