How to Choose Quaternary Ammonium Compounds Products?

May 14, 2019

Generally speaking, all quaternary ammonium compounds belong to cationic surfactants. As they have similar structures with hydrophilic and oleophilic groups, and similar structures determine they have similar applications, but each quaternary ammonium compound also has its own unique application. Therefore, how to choose the most suitable material becomes an important problem for customers.

We recommend to solve this problem by different application fields. For example, as an emulsifier, the materials with single long carbon chain would be a suitable choice. The longer the carbon chain is, the better emulsification it has. While in the application of phase transfer catalysts (PTC), the different application systems need different products, such as:

Quaternary Ammonium Compounds

1. In pyrethroid pesticide, Dodecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride as PTC has a better effect compared to other quaternary ammonium compounds;

2. In fluorine chemical industry, especially in the synthesis process of O-fluoronitrobenzene and Chlorofluoroaniline, Tetramethyl ammonium chloride is the most suitable catalyst;

3. In sterilization industry, daily chemical industry, water treatment industry, and oil field industry, there are also different suitable quaternary ammonium compounds, which we can recommend according to different customers systems.
