Fatty alkyl dimethyl tertiary amine is insoluble in water and soluble in alcohols. It is an intermediate for preparing cationic surfactants, zwitterionic surfactants, and non-ionic surfactants. It is a pigment stabilizer, paint enhancer, soil stabilizer, and intermediate in organic synthesis.
